Unauthenticated protocol access via modified URI strings
Published Apr 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authorization bypass in PrimeKey EJBCA 6.x before 6.15.2.6 and 7.x before 7.3.1.2 allows remote attackers to reach disabled protocols. The protocol-restriction check matches a client-controlled URI string in a form-sensitive way, so an equivalent modified URI avoids the disabled-protocol rule. The selected protocol must already permit enrollment, and EJBCA's internal access controls remain enforced, limiting the bypass to the system-level protocol restriction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
