Trusted-address email spoofing via HTML injection
Published Apr 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Injection in CIPPlanner CIPAce 9.1 Build 2019092801 allows remote attackers to send email from a trusted customer address via HTTP POST. The web endpoint accepts attacker-supplied HTML in a POST body and later incorporates that unneutralized content into outbound email. No authentication or user interaction is required; the established consequence is forged trusted-origin email rather than code execution or data disclosure.
