CVE-2020-11582Public exploit

Unauthenticated cookie manipulation via DNS-rebindable local socket

Published Apr 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

DNS rebinding in Pulse Secure Pulse Connect Secure through 2020-04-06 allows attackers to send commands to the Host Checker applet. The tncc.jar applet binds a TCP command server to a random port, ignores up to 25 invalid request lines, and accepts unauthenticated local commands such as setcookie. Host Checker policy enforcement on macOS, Linux, or Solaris must launch the applet; DNS rebinding then lets browser-originated HTTP reach the listener and alter the preauthentication cookie used by the client.
