CVE-2020-11539Public exploit

Device control via unauthenticated BLE writes

Published Apr 22, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Missing authentication in Tata Sonata Smart SF Rush 1.12 allows physically proximate attackers to alter device settings over Bluetooth. The band accepts unpaired BLE GATT writes to handle 0x0e and verifies only CRC-8, not an authenticated signature, on attacker-crafted values. Bluetooth range is sufficient; replayed or crafted packets can change time and date, inject notifications, set alarms, and enable lost mode.
