Remote code execution in Microsoft .NET, .NET Framework, SharePoint Server, and Visual Studio allows attackers to run code via crafted XML. System.Data.DataTable and DataSet XML deserialization accepts attacker-selected types from source markup instead of restricting them to safe types. Reachability depends on an application parsing the XML; SharePoint exploitation is remote and authenticated, while client use requires opening crafted content.
