Remote code execution via unsafe Twig deserialization
Published Apr 1, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Deserialization of untrusted data in Deskpro before 2019.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through theme editing. The /portal/api/style/edit-theme-set/template-sources handler lets attacker-controlled Twig context data reach PHP's native unserialize function through the code parameter, activating crafted POP gadgets. Administrator access to the theme editor is required, and successful exploitation gives code execution on the Deskpro server.
