CVE-2020-11447Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Serial-number disclosure via authenticated JSON request

Published Nov 17, 2023 · Updated Sep 4, 2024

Information disclosure in Bell Canada Home Hub 3000 firmware SG48222070 allows remote authenticated users to retrieve its serial number. At cgi/json-req, the management interface returns the device serial number to an authenticated session without requiring the physical-access proof that the serial number represents. Access requires valid modem-management credentials and local-network reachability; disclosure weakens reliance on the serial number as proof of physical possession.
