Unauthenticated file disclosure via documentation path traversal
Published May 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in i-net Clear Reports 16.0 through 19.2, HelpDesk 8.0 through 8.3, and PDFC 4.3 through 6.2 allows remote attackers to read files. The shared Help Plugin documentation handler fails to confine requested paths, exposing files within the installation directory and its subdirectories. No authentication is required; exposed application files can reveal configuration or other sensitive data, while access beyond the installation tree is not established.
