CVE-2020-11291Network attack vector

Unauthenticated modem memory corruption via unchecked IKEv2 parameters

Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

A buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon data modems allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via IKEv2 delete payloads from an ePDG server. The modem updates IKEv2 parameters without validating certain values in delete payloads received during an informational exchange. Exploitation requires a malicious payload on the ePDG server path; public records do not specify whether corruption produces code execution or only a crash.
