Device tracking via correlated RTT sequence numbers
Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Qualcomm Snapdragon WLAN firmware allows remote attackers to link randomized and fixed MAC addresses via RTT frames. RTT frame sequence numbers remain correlated across randomized and non-randomized MAC addressing, exposing a stable link between device identities. Unauthenticated network access enables device tracking through frame comparison; no data modification or service interruption is reported.
