Device tracking via RTT sequence-number correlation
Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Qualcomm Snapdragon WLAN firmware allows remote attackers to link randomized and device MAC addresses through RTT frames. The RTT frame generator uses sequence numbers that remain correlatable with frames carrying the nonrandomized MAC address. Reaching the flaw requires collecting RTT traffic, and the resulting disclosure links device identities without enabling data modification or service interruption.
