Remote information disclosure via quiet IE over-read
Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Snapdragon WLAN components allows remote attackers to disclose memory or interrupt service via crafted beacon frames. The receive-beacon parser fails to validate the Quiet information element length before reading its fields, causing access beyond the received buffer. Exploitation requires a device to receive an attacker-controlled wireless beacon; the bounded consequences are memory disclosure and service interruption.
