CVE-2020-11264Network attack vector

Packet injection via plaintext-frame authentication failure

Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper WLAN authentication in Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary packets during a four-way handshake. The WLAN IPA exception path accepts non-EAPOL/WAPI plaintext frames from unauthorized peers instead of restricting the handshake to authenticated key-management traffic. An attacker able to transmit crafted Wi-Fi frames during the handshake can forge network traffic, with no availability impact reported by Qualcomm.
