TrustZone memory corruption via unchecked buffer pointer
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon Wired Infrastructure and Networking allows local users to corrupt TrustZone memory through a buffer pointer. WIN TZ firmware accepts a pointer to a supplied buffer without verifying that its offset remains in range before passing it into TrustZone. The attack requires local access; Qualcomm has not published whether exploitation yields code execution, disclosure, or a service interruption.
