CVE-2020-11253

Arbitrary memory write via invalid buffer settings

Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper input validation in Qualcomm Snapdragon video drivers allows local users to write arbitrary memory while setting internal buffers. The proprietary driver uses insufficiently validated buffer-setting data to configure internal buffers, producing an attacker-directed memory write. Low-privileged local access is required; public records do not disclose the affected routine or how the write is controlled.
