Local information disclosure via unvalidated MMC reread
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
A TOCTOU race in Qualcomm Snapdragon boot code allows local users to disclose sensitive data while partition entries are processed. During boot partition handling, a newly allocated buffer is checked, reread from MMC, and then used without revalidating the reread contents. Local code execution is sufficient to race the buffer; the published impact is limited to confidentiality, with no integrity or availability effect reported.
