Out-of-bounds access via unvalidated HLOS buffer pointer
Published Jan 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds access in Qualcomm Snapdragon CVP command handling allows local users to access memory outside the intended buffer. The CVP process-control path accepts a buffer pointer from the high-level operating system without validating that it remains within the permitted buffer. Low privileges on an affected device are required; public records do not disclose whether the access reads or writes memory or causes a crash.
