Protected-memory overwrite via incomplete physical-address checks
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper address validation in Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms allows local users to overwrite another use case's CPZ memory. TrustZone checks only whether a supplied physical address overlaps its own memory or Root of Trust memory, leaving other use cases' CPZ ranges unprotected. Reachability requires code executing as a trusted application; a successful write crosses isolation boundaries and corrupts security-sensitive state.
