Local security-code overwrite via improper SPC validation
Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper access control in Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms allows local users to overwrite the Security Code NV item without the current SPC. The modem RFA path improperly validates the supplied SPC setting and device-lock state before writing the nonvolatile security-code item. A local low-privileged user can therefore replace the stored security code without knowing the existing code; further effects are not publicly specified.
