CVE-2020-11072Network attack vector

Minting-baton destruction via premature parent-count rejection

Published May 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Incorrect comparison in Simple Ledger SLP-Validate before 1.2.1 allows remote attackers to make valid MINT transactions fail validation. ValidatorType1 rejects any MINT transaction with multiple candidate parents before validating which parent carries the minting baton. A wallet that trusts this false-negative result and spends the rejected token inputs can permanently destroy the affected user's minting baton.
