CVE-2020-11070Network attack vector

Cross-site scripting via malformed SVG bypass

Published May 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cross-site scripting in SVG Sanitizer before 1.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in browsers via malformed SVG markup. The sanitizer fails to process slightly invalid or incomplete SVG, leaving script-capable content unsanitized for browser evaluation. Exploitation requires a low-privilege user to submit crafted SVG that another user opens, resulting in limited script-driven data access or actions without service interruption.
