Authenticated script execution via unencoded placeholder values
Published May 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in TYPO3 CMS 9.0.0 through 9.5.16 and 10.0.0 through 10.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to run scripts. Backend form rendering places values from other database records into HTML placeholder attributes without proper output encoding. Exploitation requires a valid backend account and victim interaction, allowing script execution within the victim's TYPO3 browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
