Backend user enumeration via password-reset timing
Published May 13, 2020 · Updated Dec 3, 2024
Information disclosure in TYPO3 CMS 10.4.0 through 10.4.1 allows remote attackers to enumerate backend user email addresses. The backend LoginController password-reset action returns without a response delay, exposing account existence through processing-time differences. No authentication or user interaction is required; repeated requests disclose only whether a supplied email address belongs to a backend account.
