CVE-2020-11059Network attack vector

Secret disclosure via bundled process environment

Published May 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Information disclosure in IPFS Aegir 21.7.0 through 21.10.0 allows remote attackers to read secrets embedded in browser bundles. The Webpack configuration passes the complete process.env object to DefinePlugin instead of restricting it to DEBUG and NODE_ENV, embedding every variable. A maintainer must run aegir build or publish while secrets are present; anyone obtaining the resulting bundle can read those values.
