CVE-2020-11047Network attack vector

Client-memory disclosure via unchecked bandwidth result length

Published May 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in FreeRDP clients after 1.1 and before 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to read up to eight bytes of client memory. The autodetect_recv_bandwidth_measure_results parser reads two four-byte fields without first verifying that eight bytes remain in the response stream. A client must connect to an attacker-controlled RDP server and process its shortened Bandwidth Measure Results message, limiting the demonstrated consequence to disclosure of those bytes.
