CVE-2020-11044Network attack vector

Client crash via zero-length bitmap reallocation

Published May 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Double free in FreeRDP greater than 1.2 and before 2.0.0 allows context-dependent attackers to crash clients via a malicious RDP server. update_read_cache_bitmap_v3_order accepts a zero bitmap length, causing realloc to free bitmapData->data before cleanup frees it again. The client must parse a crafted cache-bitmap order from the manipulated server, and the demonstrated consequence is a client-process crash.
