CVE-2020-11038Network attack vector

Client memory corruption via video dimension overflow

Published May 29, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Integer overflow in FreeRDP 2.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to corrupt client memory through crafted video-channel messages. video_read_tsmm_presentation_req accepts server-controlled dimensions, and PresentationContext_new multiplies width by height by four without preventing allocation-size wraparound. The client must connect to a manipulated RDP server with video redirection enabled; later messages then write beyond the undersized allocation.
