Script execution via option-element wrapper regex

Cross-site scripting in jQuery 1.0.3 through 3.4.1 allows remote attackers to execute script via crafted option-element HTML. A manipulation-path regex wraps option elements in select elements for legacy Internet Explorer parsing, turning sanitized markup into executable DOM content in other browsers. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled HTML into html(), append(), or a related DOM manipulation method and a user to render the resulting content.
