Authenticated code execution via arbitrary control instantiation
Published May 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Remote code execution in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019 allows remote authenticated users to run code via a crafted app package. Shared-form handling accepts package source markup that can instantiate arbitrary controls instead of restricting permitted control types. An authenticated user must upload the package; successful exploitation runs code as the SharePoint application pool and server farm accounts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
