Sensitive argument disclosure via command-line capture
Published Apr 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Information disclosure in Percona XtraBackup 2.4.11 through 2.4.19 and 8.0.4 through 8.0.10 allows attackers to read sensitive arguments. The backup process copies its full command line, including runtime secrets, into backup output and, with --history, the PERCONA_SCHEMA.xtrabackup_history table. Access requires backup-file access, authenticated MySQL access, or local access to process-list metadata or standard-error output.
