CVE-2020-10972Network attack vector

Administrator password disclosure via exposed page source

Published May 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Credential exposure in Wavlink WN530HG4, WN531G3, and WN572HG3 routers allows remote attackers to read the administrator password. The unauthenticated live_?.shtml endpoint embeds the current cleartext password in the page source as the syspasswd variable rather than withholding it from unauthenticated requests. Network reachability to the device web interface is sufficient; disclosure grants administrator credentials, while the flaw itself does not alter data or interrupt service.
