Code execution via VBScript object memory corruption
Published May 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Memory corruption in the VBScript engine in Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and 11 allows remote attackers to execute code as the current user. The engine mishandles objects in memory while processing crafted web content, corrupting memory used by the current process. Exploitation requires a user to view an attacker-controlled page or open content in an application hosting the IE rendering engine; resulting code inherits that user's rights.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
