Unauthenticated code execution via handshake deserialization
Published Apr 22, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Deserialization of untrusted data in Veeam ONE Agent 9.5.4.4587 allows remote attackers to execute code without authentication. The PerformHandshake method deserializes attacker-controlled .NET data received during the TLS handshake without proper validation. The service listens on TCP 2805 by default, and successful exploitation runs code under the Veeam ONE service account with control of the host.
