Code execution via freed XFA template object
Published Apr 22, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Use-after-free in Foxit Software Foxit PDF Reader 9.7.1.29511 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a crafted PDF. During XFA-template processing, the application operates on an object after it has been freed instead of validating that the object still exists. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file, and resulting code runs in the Reader process context.
