CVE-2020-10882Known exploitationPublic exploit

Unauthenticated root command execution via slave_mac injection

Published Mar 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Command injection in TP-Link Archer A7 firmware 190726 allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary commands as root over UDP. The onemesh_slave_key_offer function decrypts a crafted OneMesh JSON payload, copies its slave_mac value into a shell command with sprintf, and passes it to system without neutralizing shell metacharacters. LAN access is required, but authentication and user interaction are not; repeated packets can build and run a root shell script.
