Host shutdown via low-integrity RPC call

Denial of service in Avast Antivirus before 20 allows local users to shut down Windows through an Avast Service RPC call. The aswTask endpoint in AvastSvc.exe accepts a TaskEx TempShutDownMachine RPC request from a Low Integrity process and performs the shutdown. Code execution in a local Low Integrity process is required, and successful exploitation shuts down the host rather than only stopping the antivirus service.
