Arbitrary memory overwrite in Avast Antivirus before 20 allows attackers to crash AvastSvc.exe through the aswAvLog log library. The RPC-facing library accepts attacker-controlled address data and writes to the supplied memory location without validating that the destination is safe. The published demonstration targets 32-bit Windows 7 and Windows 10 installations; no code-execution or data impact is reported.
