Physical Factory Reset Protection bypass via SIM card

Authentication bypass in Samsung mobile devices running Android 8.x, 9.0, or 10.0 allows physically proximate attackers to defeat FRP. Samsung discloses only that a SIM card bypasses Factory Reset Protection and has not published the affected component or failed validation step. Physical possession of an affected device and a SIM card are required, after which the reset device can be activated without the account verification FRP is intended to enforce.
