SQL injection via unescaped database identifiers
Published Mar 22, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in phpMyAdmin 4.9.x before 4.9.5 and 5.0.x before 5.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute crafted queries. TableSearchController.php's getDataRowAction concatenates posted db and table values directly into a SELECT statement instead of safely quoting those identifiers. Exploitation requires a malicious database or table name and a logged-in victim who performs a search on it, causing injected SQL to execute through the victim's database session.
