Cross-site scripting via unencoded ping output

Cross-site scripting in Netgate pfSense before 2.4.5 allows remote attackers to execute script via the Diagnostics Ping hostname field. diag_ping.php passes the submitted hostname to ping and prints the resulting $result value into a preformatted HTML block without encoding it. Exploitation requires user interaction with crafted diagnostic content and permits script execution in the affected browser session.
