Authentication bypass in Red Hat NetworkManager 1.24.2 allows remote authenticated users to establish insecure 802.1X connections. The ifcfg-rh settings plugin silently discards nmcli-supplied 802-1x.ca-path and 802-1x.phase2-ca-path values while reporting success. Exploitation requires profile creation through nmcli with the ifcfg-rh backend; subsequent use omits intended CA-path validation and exposes connection confidentiality.
