CVE-2020-10749Network attack vector

Traffic interception via accepted rogue router advertisements

Published Jun 3, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Man-in-the-middle exposure in Red Hat CNI Plugins before 0.8.6 allows remote authenticated users to redirect same-host traffic. The bridge and ptp setup paths leave IPv6 router-advertisement acceptance enabled on host-side bridges and veth interfaces, so forged advertisements install attacker-controlled routes. Exploitation requires code execution in a container with CAP_NET_RAW and exposes host or peer-container traffic to interception or modification on the same node.
