CVE-2020-10738Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via evaluated SCORM status

Published May 21, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Remote code execution in Moodle LMS 3.5 through 3.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through SCORM web services. The scorm_eval_prerequisites function concatenates an attacker-controlled SCORM status into a PHP expression that it evaluates instead of comparing the values directly. Exploitation requires an authenticated web-service user and a crafted SCORM package added to a course; successful use executes code in the Moodle server context.
