Stored script execution via unsanitized template name
Published Mar 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in the Canon Oce Colorwave 500 4.0.0.0 web application allows remote attackers to execute script in an operator's browser. The /TemplateManager/indexExternalLocation.jsp page stores the map(template_name) parameter without safely neutralizing browser-active content. Exploitation requires an operator to edit the affected document page, after which the stored payload can alter content or access data available to that browser session.
