CVE-2020-10641Network attack vector

Unauthenticated disk exhaustion via unprotected logging route

Published Apr 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper access control in Inductive Automation Ignition Gateway before 8.0.10 allows remote attackers to exhaust disk space. The unauthenticated /data/perspective/print-to-log route accepts attacker-controlled requests and writes unlimited INFO-level log entries to the Gateway database. A reachable Gateway must run the Perspective Module; filling the host disk interrupts Gateway service.
