Stack-based buffer overflow in Eaton HMiSoft VU3 3.00.23 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted VU3 file. The VU3-file wKPFString parser copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length stack buffer without validating its length. Exploitation requires a target to open the malicious file or visit a malicious page; it executes code in or crashes the current process.
