CVE-2020-10632

Configuration tampering via insecure folder ownership

Published Feb 24, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Improper folder ownership in Emerson OpenEnterprise 3.3.4 and earlier allows local users to modify critical configuration files. OpenEnterprise installation folders grant inadequate security permissions, permitting a low-privileged account to overwrite files trusted by the system. Local access is required, and successful tampering can make the SCADA system fail or behave unpredictably.
