CVE-2020-10619Network attack vector

Unauthenticated file deletion via unvalidated image path

Published Apr 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Relative path traversal in Advantech WebAccess/NMS before 3.0.2 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files via a crafted URL. The saveBackground.action endpoint uses the oldImage parameter in file operations without validating that its path remains in the application's directory. No authentication is required, and deletion of application or system files can interrupt the service.
