Unauthenticated command execution via upload and GhostCat
Published Apr 21, 2020 · Updated Nov 18, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in SysAid On-Premise 20.1.11 allows remote attackers to execute commands by chaining the upload with GhostCat. The UploadIcon.jsp endpoint accepts files without authentication, while the default Tomcat configuration exposes AJP13 for GhostCat access. An attacker with network access to both surfaces can place a file and use AJP to execute it, gaining unauthenticated command execution on the server.
