Database credential disclosure via unescaped search column
Published Jun 4, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in rConfig 3.9.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to read its database through an unauthenticated HTTP request. snippets.inc.php interpolates the unescaped searchColumn query parameter into an SQL statement instead of binding it as a prepared-statement parameter. No account is required, and database access exposes cleartext credentials for monitored network devices, enabling lateral movement.
